Del Ray now has an option for fresh-caught seafood and craft cocktails when Catch On The Ave. opened this week. The new restaurant from Common Plate Hospitality opened at 2419 Mount Vernon Avenue.
Chef Eric Reid, formerly at now-shuttered Reserve in D.C., also runs the kitchen at months-old sister spot Augie’s Mussel House nearby. His offerings at Catch all sound amazing.
Entrees such as beer-battered cod and chips, fish and grits, and pecan-crusted mahi mahi are offered. Brunch features tuna ribs, bacon cinnamon roll, barbecue octopus, and (wait for it) buttermilk biscuits with crab fat butter.
The family-friendly eatery will also serve a “Build Your Own Bento” kid’s menu featuring a choice of protein and three sides.
