According to HomeSnacks, a website that analyzes the quality of life in places around the United States, Alexandria ranks seventh in the 2018 Best Places to Live in Virginia. We moved up two spots from ninth place last year. We would say #1, but we are biased.
HomeSnacks reviewed 62 cities with populations over 5,000 across the state. Criteria include median home values, median income, population density, unemployment rate, commute time (oh no), crime, education levels, health insurance coverage and poverty rates.
It was nice to learn that our crime rate ranks in the lowest 10% of all places in Virginia that were examined.
The top 10 places to live in Virginia are:
- Vienna
- Bridgewater
- Purcellville
- Falls Church
- Poquoson
- Leesburg
- Alexandria
- Warrenton
- Salem
- Virginia Beach
Number seven in this survey, number one in our hearts!
